Courtney Lok
Co-President
Courtney is a third-year majoring in Biochemistry from San Gabriel, CA. She began dancing at the age of 6 at her local studio, where she learned ballet, jazz, and contemporary. Courtney enjoys learning new combinations, working through old ones, and exploring music through movement. She is excited for all that's to come this year.
Catherine McGrath
Co-President
Catherine is a third year Civil Engineering major and Entrepreneurship minor from Mountain View, CA. She has been dancing since she was seven years old. She enjoys choreographing and dancing with other students and looks forward to holding performances with the company this year!
Zoe Heidersbach
Co-Director of Programs
Zoe is a second-year biochemistry major. She started dancing at her hometown studio, California Academy of Performing Arts, when she was four years old and later attended summer intensives at San Francisco Ballet School, City Ballet School San Francisco, and Contra Costa Ballet Centre. She also enjoys reading, hiking, and playing with her dog.
Aysha Cunningham
Co-Director of Programs
Aysha is a second-year dance major from the Bay Area. She has been practicing ballet for over fifteen years and especially enjoys teaching and choreographing. She is passionate about creating a space for ballet practice and performance on campus, as well as promoting diversity and inclusivity in the ballet world. She is excited to work on providing more technique classes and performance opportunities for UCLA’s ballet dancers and choreographers as one of the Director of Programs.
Charlotte Weymer
Co-Director of Programs
Charlotte is from Camarillo, CA and started training under Clarissa Boeriu at All American Ballet at the age of 7. She received a scholarship to attend the Pacific Northwest Ballet summer program in 2015, and has since spent her summers training at the School of American Ballet at Lincoln Center, Boston Ballet, and Ballet West. In 2019 she began training at California Dance Theatre under the artistic direction of Kim Maselli and performed in Pacific Festival Ballet’s 2019 The Nutcracker. At CDT she performed in soloist roles in A Holiday Angel and The Secret Garden. Charlotte was admitted into the UCLA dance department and pursued this major for her freshman year before deciding to switch to a major in physiological science with a minor in bioinformatics. She is very excited to help provide a platform for accessible ballet as a co-director of programs this year!
Valancya Lu
Co-Director of Internal Service
Valancya is a second year communication major. She has been a ballerina for over 10 years with a background in traditional Chinese dancing. She is most looking forward to dancing with everyone!
Sarah Simpson
Co-Director of Internal Service
Sarah has been dancing since the age of four at the School of Ballet Arizona in Phoenix, Arizona. She mainly studied ballet but also learned flamenco, Horton, and Martha Graham technique. Sarah is majoring in Ecology, Behavior, and Evolution B.S. and is minoring in Global Studies. She works in the Jacobs Lab in the EEB department as an undergraduate research assistant, where she conducts DNA barcoding and helps process environmental DNA from estuarine marine areas. Sarah also likes drawing and painting, especially while watching her favorite TV shows and movies.
Audrey Kim
Co-Director of Publicity
Audrey is a second year biology major. She previously danced at Pacific Northwest Ballet and Arc School of Ballet in Seattle, WA. She has done summer intensives at Oregon Ballet Theatre and Pacific Northwest Ballet. She loves to choreograph and her favorite ballet is Don Quixote. She also is a big fan of puppies and pandas.
Sofia Nicolau
Co-Director of Publicity
Sofia is a third year psychology major and film minor. She has been dancing at her local studio, Ballet Petit, since she was 7 years old, where she also began teaching at 16. She has done summer intensives with Oakland Ballet Company and Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Ballet. Sofia also loves reading, hiking, and cooking, and can often be found making interesting vegetarian recipes.
Jennifer Zhou
Co-Director of Finance
Jennifer is a 3rd year student from San Diego, majoring in business economics and minoring in accounting. She has been dancing since she was 5 and also enjoys cooking and making smoothies in her free time!
Sophia Luo
Co-Director of Finance
Sophia is a second-year MCDB major and is excited to meet everyone! In her free time she loves painting, watching K-dramas, eating food with friends, and sleeping in :)
